What Reviewers Are Saying
'Author Kaiho, who works as a technical advisor of Godo Shigen Co., Ltd. (Chiba, Japan), one of the world's most renowned iodine manufacturing companies, presents a work aimed at a "mainstream" audience, and for one which includes students and specialists. Iodine Made Simple is organized into eight chapters that cover what iodine is and its various uses in the environment, technology and information, forms of analysis, health applications, agricultural applications, and "next-generation technology." Each chapter is divided into several sections that consist of pages with text on the left and corresponding illustrations and graphics (including chemical structures) on the facing right page. Additionally, the chapters conclude with "columns," which describe related topics in further detail. Most significantly, the work highlights the importance of iodine in many different elements of both life and nature. Overall, Kaiho uses his expertise to help the reader gain a stronger understanding of iodine and its multitude of functions.
