It re-conceptualizes romantic "chemistry" as an invisible alluring, seductive "love force" that is impossible to avoid. Codependents and pathological narcissists cannot avoid The Human Magnet Syndrome's inevitable dysfunctional opposite match-up. What starts as the codependent's dream "soul mate" almost always transforms into their nightmare "cellmate."
