Synopsis
A wise, practical, man of the world, always with a deep Catholic faith guiding him, Father Gerald Freely was ordained to the priesthood in 1999 after being widowed in 1993. As a Catholic priest with seven children, accustomed to the realities of family life and the robustness of business life in the City of London, he had a rare insight into our 21st Century world. His thoughts combine learned theology, basic common sense and spirituality with a touch of humour. Not afraid to speak sometimes uncomfortable truths, as a lawyer and priest, thoughtful and logical advice came naturally to him and many who sought his counsel benefitted.
This book is a compilation of his originally handwritten sermons and homilies, edited and arranged posthumously by his daughter. It is hoped that they bring thought-provoking joy to the reader just as they brought it to the listener during his lifetime.
