Synopsis
From cats that loved birds to cats that danced, sang and even saved their owner's lives, this unique collection of feline stories brings together some of the strangest and most endearing tales from the past two centuries - and, best of all, the stories are true. Many of the most intriguing of these tales come from long forgotten books, newspapers and magazines published here, in Europe and America, but they have one thing in common: they all reflect our passion for cats in all their variety - from the tough old farm cat to the pampered Persian. Here you will find cats that looked after dogs (and hedgehogs), cats that became lifelong friends with birds, foxes and even frogs, not to mention cats that learned to ring doorbells and lost cats that travelled hundreds of miles to get home. Beautifully illustrated by Nicola L. Robinson, who also illustrated our companion volume, Barking Mad, this is a must for anyone and everyone who has ever owned the Purr...fect pet.

Newspapers & Magazines
It's certainly a book that you can either dip in and out of, or as in my case, read cover to cover over a very entertaining and enjoyable couple of days! The book spans 208 pages and features some beautiful illustrations that capture the quirkiness and charm of our feline friends. The one thing that is strikingly obvious with Cat Tales is simply how much the English language has evolved over the last century or so, yet cats through history have remained the same curious, mysterious and fascinating creatures as they are today. Love Cats? Then you can t help but love this book. This delightful book features an incredible selection of stories, drawn from books, newspapers and magazines from all over the world and dating back over 200 years and chronicles our love of our fireside companion, the cat. Hugely entertaining, this book is one that can be dipped into at will and is beautifully illustrated by Nicola L. Robinson. It really is the perfect stocking filler for Christmas and ought to be on everyones wish list. A collection of true short stories surrounding cats from the past two centuries, this is the purrfect read for cat lovers.
