Synopsis
Fully revised and updated and now with new Discovery Tours chapter. Marco Polo Brussels: the Travel Guide with Insider Tips! Experience all the attractions of Brussels with this up-to date and authoritative guide, complete with Insider Tips. Most holidaymakers want to have fun and feel relaxed from the moment they arrive at their holiday destination that's what Marco Polo Guides are all about. Find hotels and restaurants, check out the city's trendiest places and nightlife scene, and discover its shops. Further sections include: Festivals & Events, Travel Tips, Travel With Kids, Links, Blogs, Apps & more, Dutch and French phrase books and Index. Brussels is all about variety and diversity. There are splendid churches, royal palaces, the beautiful Town Hall and other glories of the Grand Place, and Art Nouveau par excellence not to mention the shining Atomium and glittering EU buildings. With its cosmopolitan outlook and high quality of life, Brussels is much more than a political capital. With MARCO POLO Brussels you can explore the various quarters that make up this large, green city, where each district possesses its own distinct character. The practical pocket-sized guide will show you the highlights and introduce you to some of the many great cafes, bars and restaurants that are such a feature of this gourmet citadel. The Insider Tips reveal where you can get the best chocolate and where you can drop in for a fortifying beer or wine after you've finished your shopping. Panels in each chapter suggest things to do if you're on a tight budget and where you might pick up some real bargains, while the Where to Start boxes highlight the best places to begin sightseeing, shopping and going out in the evening. The Best Of pages highlight what is currently in vogue, recommend places to go for free, and have tips for rainy days and where you can relax when you've had enough of sightseeing. The Dos and Don'ts explain why you should always book a table at a restaurant and why you should never take an unlicensed taxi. MARCO POLO Brussels provides comprehensive coverage of all areas of the city. To help you find your way around there s the detailed Street Atlas, a public transport map in the cover, plus the pull-out map.

Newspapers & Magazines
You've got to applaud Marco Polo's chutzpah to launch 30 new city/island guidebooks into an already pretty crowded market. Aiming to occupy the middle ground between the context-heavy luggage fillers and the context-free thinner volumes, the main USPs of these user-friendly guides are the plentiful 'Insider tips' dotted around each edition, the maps they're packaged with, and the pocket cheering price. Complete with near-magazine style features, they're certainly a less intimidating proposition than some of the big wedges on offer.
