In March 1996, General Paul A. Rader appointed an International Spiritual Life Commission to review the ways in which The Salvation Army cultivates and sustains the spiritual life of its people. The commission originally comprised 15 members, later increasing by three. Some of the 10 corresponding members were involved in the later meetings. Officers (ministers) of all ranks were included, as were three non-officers. Each of the five meetings lasted for five days. This book is the outcome of the commission.
