From Article 23 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, this research highlights the life experiences and views of young disabled people in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton. It identifies key issues that local authorities, health authorities and other agencies nationally are facing to ensure that disabled children and young people's voices are heard. The report makes recommendations that can support active participation, including improved communication methods and advocacy services. It should be of interest to: managers and workers across the field of disability in all local authorities; disabled people's own organziations; health authorities and trusts; the voluntary sector; parents/carers; and those who are involved in enabling the participation of children and young people in service planning and delivery. This publication is also available on audio tape and in Braille.
