This fascinating collection of images explores the changes taking place in the London from 1850-1950. Following on from previously published collections of images, this is an enhanced history of the City with a colour section of very rare and interesting early colortint and oilette postcards. Many of these show unique and uncommon views of the City and will add a level of interest that black and white photographs cannot. Most of the images are sourced from the author's own extensive private collection. From shoe-black scenes to war ruins, the selection shows a surprisingly varied range of activities and views. "London: A Century in the City" is a valuable pictorial history which will reawaken nostalgic memories for some, whilst offering a unique glimpse into the past for it others.
