Synopsis
Marco Polo London: the Travel Guide with Insider Tips Fully revised and updated for 2016. Now with new Discovery Tours chapter. Experience all of London's attractions with this up-to-date, authoritative guide, packed with Insider Tips. Most holidaymakers want to have fun and feel relaxed from the moment they arrive at their holiday destination - that's what Marco Polo Guides are all about. You'll discover the best hotels, restaurants, trendy places, buzzing night life, plus shopping tips, suggestions for a tight budget, tips for travel with kids and ideas for sports and other activities. Also contains: the Perfect Day, Travel Tips, Links, Blogs, Apps & more. Red double-decker buses, Big Ben, the huge dome of St. Paul's Cathedral, the Victorian Gothic of Tower Bridge: London is a city that you simply have to visit - a city with so much to see that you'll always be able to view it from a different angle. With MARCO POLO London you'll experience a city of contrasts: first class museums next to trendy shops, royal palaces next to graffiti. The 'Where to Start' boxes highlight the best places to begin sightseeing, the best places to shop, and the trendiest places to go in the evening. The Insider Tips reveal where you can learn the Balboa swing dance and how to go about kayaking from Big Ben to Tower Bridge. The Best Of pages highlight unique aspects of London, recommend places to go for free, and have tips for rainy days and where you can relax and chill out. Panels in each chapter suggest things to do if you're on a tight budget and where you might pick up some real bargains. The City Walks take you to the trendy East End, along the Thames, through the parks or on a night-time cycle tour through Victorian London. Finally, the Dos and Don'ts point out some of the things you need to be aware of and watch out for when visiting the capital. MARCO POLO London provides comprehensive coverage of all parts of the city. To help you find your way around there's a detailed street atlas, a useful Underground map in the backcover, plus a handy pull-out map. A must-have for all travellers, including those who haven't bought a travel guide in the past.

Newspapers & Magazines
Wanderlust Magazine: You've got to applaud Marco Polo's chutzpah to launch 30 new city/island guidebooks into an already pretty crowded market. Aiming to occupy the middle ground between the context-heavy luggage fillers and the context-free thinner volumes, the main USPs of these user-friendly guides are the plentiful 'Insider tips' dotted around each edition, the maps they're packaged with, and the pocket cheering price (GBP5.99 each). Complete with near-magazine style features, they're certainly a less intimidating proposition than some of the big wedges on offer.
