This book surveys new technologies that make possible the automated fabrication, testing, and tuning of miniaturized and integrated filters. The first chapter provides background information, explains the terminology, and describes the evolution of filter technologies to date. The rationale behind miniaturization, together with some typical applications is also presented. Succeeding chapters cover various types of filters including passive lumped LC, active RC, switched capacitor, mechanical, crystal, surface-acoustic-wave, and digital. The text has been designed for electrical, telecommunications and computer engineers, and electrical engineering students.
