There has been an enormous amount of interest in recent years in the analysis of strategic behaviour in a wide variety of economic contexts. This interest is reflected in the large flow of published articles in specialist journals. It was therefore felt that a collection of special surveys of recent developments in a variety of areas of game theory would be useful not only to specialists and graduate students, but to non-specialists wishing to obtain a clear view of the main directions taken, and results obtained, by recent research. This volume brings together 8 specially written surveys by an international group of specialists. Each chapter provides a discussion of a specific set of issues in game theory and indicates future directions for research.
