"The Art of Mentoring for the Property and Building Profession" has been specifically written to bring mentoring skills to both parties - mentor and mentee - so they can consciously work through the learning mentoring process to achieve excellence and professional status necessary for the sector. The book demonstrates key skills on how to manage and create long lasting relationships in the property business world. In the past, mentoring for trainee property professionals, had no assurance to good quality for learning unless the 'elder' mentor had a natural interest, and the personal qualities, to create and sustain a successful learning process. Being taught how to mentor - let alone excel in these skills - has not been seen as an essential skill for the management of the chartered status. Once qualified, continual professional development (CPD) was function-based and rarely includes the skills necessary for business and management.
