This work combines wide-ranging case law from a number of different areas, with a focus upon the underlying common principles. It covers both civil and criminal contempt in detail, and includes the increasing significance of the European Convention on Human Rights; the growing recognition of the role of the media, with particular reference to court reporting and the protection of journalists' sources; and the need to compare English and Scottish law, especially for those publishing in both jurisdictions.
