Synopsis
There are many books that celebrate our canine friends, but few so colourfully and evocatively demonstrate the sheer enjoyment they experience just from being a dog. The photographs in this book are not about the bond between us and our canine companions, the results of dog training, or the ever-expanding canine wardrobe. Rather, the focus is on how dogs behave when they are freed from everyday constraints, and can indulge their natural instincts. The unsung heroes here are the owners, who, after ensuring that their beloved best friend would be safe, let him or her run free to interact with others for the photoshoot. The resultant images showcase pure doggie delight - as the expressions on the dogs' faces demonstrate! Whether chasing balls or other dogs, mud-bathing, swimming, or rolling, this is a joyous celebration of dogs simply enjoying themselves!

Wow, what a wonderful book. A hardback from publisher Hubble & Hattie stuffed full of beautiful photo's of dogs playing and having fun. On every page there is a beautiful quality photo, but not a standard pet portrait, but dogs jumping into water, splashing and shaking their heads, rolling in mud and playing chase. Vibrant stunning pictures which demonstrate a dog's total commitment to having a wonderful life. Cheryl Murphy, the author, is a professional photographer and has done many formal studio shoots of people's pets in her work, but wanted to explore some natural behaviour and photograph this in an uninhibited environment. This excellent quality publication would be a superb gift for a budding pet photographer and dog lover as well. - Dog Training Weekly. Colourful and evocative photographs in this book are not about the bond between us and our canine companions, but the results of dog training, or the ever-expanding canine wardrobe. Rather, the focus of the book is on how dogs behave when they are freed rom everyday constraints, and can indulge their natural instincts. The unsung heroes here are the pet parents, who, after ensuring that their beloved best friend would be safe, let them run free to interact with others for the photoshoot. The resultant images showcase pure doggie delight - as the expressions on the dogs' faces demonstrate! Author Cheryl Murphy is a professional photographer based in Beverley, East Yorkshire and she explores photographing dogs in a natural environment, with no constraints on their behaviour. - Dogs & Pups, Cats & Kittens. The dogs in this photography book aren't posing, they're simply enjoying life. Pictured during playtime, they haven't a care in the world and this project celebrates their natural zest for life and individual personalities. Inspired by her late Golden Retriever, Tilly, photographer and author Cheryl Murphy decided to explore photographing dogs in a natural environment with no constraints on their behaviour. Having been a dog owner for many years, she's well aware of the individual traits and characteristics our pets have. This book makes for an ideal gift and coffee table read to flick through. There are plenty of pictures to giggle over, and Cheryl's dog Nellie's facial expressions are particularly hilarious. - Dogs Monthly. Thanks to the indisputable growth of Instagram and Snapchat, together with our unwavering devotion to pursuing all things cute and canine, it's difficult to pick up your smartphone without drowning in waves of Pugs in pirate outfits or Bulldogs in bikinis. And so the latest publication from ethical publishers Hubble and Hattie makes a refreshing and welcome change. The book contains 97 pages of full colour photographs, and there's not an uncomfortable animal in sight. Images of Chihuahuas in teacups have been replaced with wonderful pictures which demonstrate the natural beauty and fun-loving spirit of our canine companions. Author Cheryl Murphy, a professional photographer, was keen to capture this spirit, which is so often suppressed; how often do we truly let our dogs behave like dogs? Moreover, how often do we actually stop and appreciate the wonders of their body language and the incredible variation between breeds? In short, canine fans will enjoy 'Dogs just wanna have FUN!', a book which achieves its aim of showcasing dogs behaving naturally, free of clothes and cues, and having great fun in the process. - Grace Clarke. Brilliantly illustrated, this book is suitable for the admiring child and the most elderly adult. It captures action photographs of dogs being dogs. All shapes, sizes and types are seen having fun, thoroughly enjoying the realities of life. The photographs express the true personalities we love in this diverse species. - APDT UK. An ideal Christmas present for any dog lover that will guarantee to a frown upside down. The Kennel Club
