Excellent, high quality, evidence-based and up-to-date flashcards with concise yet detailed relevant information. The questions are thought provoking.

Beneficial for those who are about to or currently undertaking the MRCP postgraduate examinations where time constraints necessitates proper maximisation of time usage and is also a suitable revision aid which provides maximun yield and availabilitity of facts.

It can also be used in conjunction with material designed for the USMLEs and for the PLAB as well.

Palm-sized dimension means that the cards can be carried around and reviewed when and where it suits you.

What a great set of cards, certainly suitable for PLAB/MRCP/MRCS student and final year medical students. You could have this set of cards (covers both medicine/surgery/O&G/Ortho/ENT etc) and use them as a student of any level, as well as at SHO level to revise for postgraduate exams.

The size of the individual cards makes them easy to transport, and can help break down the mountain of revision that you often feel you need to do into smaller more managable sections.

Although entitled PLAB part 1, they would be perfect for finals, and are equally usuable for postgraduate exams, as they encourage further reading and thought. I'm glad I've got a set, just wish I'd the box earlier!

5 Stars: Excellent
I am a General Practitioner and Hospital Practitioner in Rheumatology and was very pleased to come across this publication and have added a copy to our practice library as I think it is very useful for our medical students and registrars. The card format is refreshing and the contents very cleverly designed to stimulate careful thinking needing a good knowledge of the subject. It is very modern and up-to-date including questions for instance on bioterrorism. Not only testing a good knowledge of basic sciences there are also questions on practical issues relating t o general practice. I would strongly reccommend this to final year medical students and doctors preparing for MRCP and MRCGP

5 Stars: A must have
I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to learn from such a format.

While the title indicates it is for PLAB Part 1 the majority of questions cover General Medicine and General Surgery and will also be suitable for doctors who want a quick revision of common topics for Final MB and Part I MRCP / MRCS.

Each card as a question in the form of a MCQ or EMQ or CPS (clinical problem solving). The answer and the knowledge base supporting that answer is given on the reverse of this card, which is extremely useful as you can keep topics that you want to research or read further separately.

The questions also cover O&G, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and some basic concepts in ethics and statistics are also covered. The questions make you think and develop problem-solving skills using classical clinical presentations. The topics cover not to be missed clinical conditions presented in a format that is easy to read and assimilate. Questions on Pharmacology and Nutrition makes it complete.

5 Stars: Stimulating and Comprehensive
My friends found these cards to be great fun. Each card gives a lot of concentrated information and I recommend it to all junior doctors during their residency (or preparing for USMLE) and to final MB medical students.

Using 'Plab in a box' was a fantastic aid to revision. I used it to revise for the Canadian Part I exam (which I passed!) and found it really useful. It is a much more efficient way of revising than using traditional text books alone. I found the questions clinically relevant and an aid to developing clinically-oriented knowledge. The questions cover a variety of specialties and is a good way to avoid getting bored with long hours of revision!
