What Reviewers Are Saying
This publication presents a collection of topics culled from the lectures given at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
(AAOS) in New Orleans.
The purpose is to provide a resource with the most up-to-date innovations in orthopedic surgery. The Instructional Course Lectures (ICL) continue to be a critical portion of orthopedic education, reinforcing and substantiating the material presented at the most recent AAOS meeting. The worthy objectives are well met with the book and especially with the online format.
This book is appropriately written for residents, fellows, and practicing surgeons. Recent graduates, who are preparing for their ABOS Part 1 exam, will find it very helpful. The contributors represent some of the most experienced and respected orthopedic surgeons.
It covers nine main areas, with representative lectures and symposia in each
category: trauma, upper extremity, adult reconstruction, foot and ankle, spine, pediatrics, sports medicine, oncology, and practice management. There are video abstracts for some of the topics that are fairly common but continue to represent surgical challenges.
The ICL are incomparable. This Volume 68 should be present in every medical library, on the shelf just to the right of Volume 67."
