Synopsis
The Brazilian model Sonia Ribeiro first met the former ski racer and fashion designer Willy Bogner, Jr. in the 1970s. It was love at first sight and the pair got married just a short time later. A tabloid sensation, the Bogners were a golden couple, feted by the press and public alike. Professionally successful, they worked tirelessly to modernise and develop their family skiwear and sportswear brand, Bogner, established in 1932. The Bogners also braved family tragedies like few other couples. Perhaps it was precisely these devastating hardships that made their relationship so strong, cementing a lifelong love between two very different people: the Brazilian and Bavarian, the sun worshipper and snow fanatic: "Fire and Ice." Sonia Bogner died suddenly in 2017. This illustrated book, Sonia Bogner A Picture Biography, is a tribute to her: a testimony to her as a person, her work as a designer, and as one of the most multi-faceted and fascinating figures of the German fashion world. Created in close collaboration with her husband Willy, the book gathers the best and most personal Sonia Bogner photographs.
